Las Margaritas
San Luis Province
Breeding
In this ranch we inseminate and mate 15 month-old heifers that replace rejected cows. They give birth to their calves and receive their second service prior to being sent to El Valle Oeste, the company’s main breeding ranch.
Heifer rearing
Las Margaritas receives calves that were weaned early in El Valle Oeste and provides them with excellent quality food allowing heifers to reach the necessary weight for mating at 15 months of age. Steers on the other hand, are provided with pastures that allow for their optimal development and consequently fulfill their meat quality potential once slaughtered. This process is carried out with the animals actually grazing directly from the field.
Fattening
All heifers and cows that do not produce a calf graze until fat and are eventually slaughtered
